KANSAS CITY � The independent Kansas City T-Bones of the Northern League have signed baseball icon John Jordan �Buck� O�Neil to a one-day contract, effective Tuesday, July 18, the team announced Tuesday. O�Neil will become the oldest professional baseball player in history, at 94 years, seven months and 28 days, surpassing Minnie Minoso, who played in 2003 at the age of 80. As well, the Sioux Falls Canaries recently batted 83-year-old Jim Eriotes; O'Neil will supercede the South Dakota octogenarian.
