07/10/2006 6:56 PM - CHICAGO - The Kansas City T-Bones placed six players on the Northern League's East Division All-Star squad, including starters Charles Peterson, Greg Jacobs and Jonathan Krysa, as rosters were announced Monday for the league's mid-summer classic, to be played Tuesday, July 18th at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

First-baseman Charles Peterson has been the model of consistency throughout the first half of the season, playing in all 48 games for the T-Bones and posting hit streaks of 15 and 13 games, as well as a 21-game hit streak at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The Laurens, SC native is batting .310 with 7 HR and 33 RBI while anchoring the right side of the T-Bones infield.

Outfielder Greg Jacobs has been arguably the league's most outstanding player in 2006. Jacobs finished the first half leading the circuit with a .373 batting average, and also posted the league's top on-base percentage (.476). The 29-year-old Scottsdale, AZ resident was named the Rawling's Northern League Player of the Month for June after batting .394 with 5 HR, 25 RBI and 7 SB's.

Righthander Jonathan Krysa (pictured) rebounded from a disappointing 2005 campaign to rack up a league-best seven victories in the first half - two more than he totaled over the entire season a year ago. The T-Bones' all-time strikeout leader has fanned a league-high 63 hitters and is second only to teammate Greg Bicknell with 85 1/3 innings pitched. Krysa, a Lee's Summit, MO native, was named the Rawling's Northern League Pitcher of the Month for June and has turned in seven straight starts of 7+ innings.

Designated hitter Eddie Pearson, who leads the league with 13 home runs, was also selected as a starter, but will not participate in order to attend to personal business. Pearson also appeared in all 48 games during the first half, batting .297 and leading the club with 40 RBI.

Three T-Bones regulars were also named to the team as reserves. Righthander Greg Bicknell went 4-5 with a 3.87 ERA in 12 starts while logging a league-high 86 innings. Catcher Craig Hurba has been an iron man behind the plate for the T-Bones, starting 47 games and ranking fifth in the league with 23 extra-base hits, including 7 HR. Closer Byron Embry has been lights-out all season long, posting a 1.61 ERA with 10 saves to go along with 42 strikeouts in just 28 innings of work.
