07/12/2006 12:00 PM - KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City T-Bones (25-26, 3-0) rallied for nine runs in the seventh inning to pick up an 11-7 victory over the Edmonton Cracker-Cats (21-30, 0-3). With the win the T-Bones earned their first series sweep of the season Wednesday afternoon before a crowd of 6,023 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Trailing by a 5-0 score, Kansas City put its first five hitters on base and pounded out three homers in the bottom of the seventh to seize control of the contest. J.D. Foust tied the ballgame with an RBI single to center that scored Doug Dreher. After a Greg Jacobs strikeout and a single by Charles Peterson, Eddie Pearson (pictured) launched a mammoth two-run homer over that cleared the right-field berm to give the T-Bones a 7-5 lead. Darryl Lawhorn plated two more runs for the home team when he delivered a two-run homer of his own to extend the advantage to 9-5.

The Cracker-Cats pulled to within two runs in the eighth, but Peterson gained those runs right back when he hammered his eighth home run of the season- a two-run blast to straight-away center off Brad Bissell.

Buddy Blair (2-7) picked up the victory in relief after retiring the only batter he faced to end the top of the seventh. Scott Richmond (1-5) was tagged with the loss after surrendering four runs on three hits in just 1/3 of an inning. Byron Embry tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 12th save.

Edmonton jumped out to an early lead after taking advantage of T-Bones starter Jonathan Krysa's early control problems, capitalizing on a pair hit-batsmen and a walk in the first inning to claim a 1-0 advantage when Terrence McClain brought Ashley Freeman home on a grounder to third.

McClain delivered again with two on and two-out in the third, when the Cracker-Cats leftfielder deposited a Krysa offering into the visiting bullpen in left-center field to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Cracker-Cats added an insurance run in the seventh when Stubby Clapp drew a two-out walk, stole second base and scored on Freeman's single to center field.

Chris Kemlo held the T-Bones scoreless through six innings before Craig Hurba clubbed his third homer in four games- solo shot to lead off the seventh that sparked the T-Bones biggest inning of the season.

After a travel day on Thursday, the T-Bones hit the road for a three-game series at Schaumburg before returning home for the All-Star break.

Game Notes: Doug Dreher extended his hit streak to 12 games with a lead off single in the fifth...Greg Jacobs' 11-game hit streak came to an end Wednesday, but the outfielder is still batting .436 at home and has reached base safely in all 25 games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in 2006...Charles Peterson (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI) singled in the seventh to extend his home hit streak to 24 games...The T-Bones' nine-run seventh was their second big seventh inning in four games- on Sunday KC scored seven times in a 12-10 loss to Schaumburg.
