07/16/2006 2:59 PM - SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - Chris Weekly's walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning gave the Schaumburg Flyers (35-19, 4-2) a 5-4 victory and completed a three-game sweep of the Kansas City T-Bones (25-29, 3-3) Sunday afternoon at Alexian Field.

With the score knotted at 4-4, Weekly led-off the tenth by sending a James Morrison offering over the right-center field wall to end the contest and send the T-Bones to their 10th loss in 13 meetings with the Flyers in 2006.

Weekly's homer ended a see-saw battle that saw the two clubs combine for five first-inning runs. The T-Bones grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in their half of the first off Flyers' lefty and former Washburn Ichabod, Rick DeHart. With one-out, Doug Dreher extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a double down the left-field line, then came home on a Greg Jacobs double to right field. Eddie Pearson followed with an RBI single to put Kansas City out in front by a score of 2-0.

Schaumburg quickly answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first. Geoff McCallum singled off T-Bones' starter Buddy Blair to lead-off the frame, then came home on a Chad Sosebee throwing error to cut the deficit to 2-1. Eric Cole and Josue Lopez also delivered run-scoring hits in the inning and the Flyers took a 3-2 advantage into the second inning.

Craig Hurba started another two-run rally when he led-off the T-Bones' fourth with his 10th home run of the season to tie the ballgame. After a Sosebee double, new T-Bone Robbie Knapp drove home his first run as a professional with a single to right to give the T-Bones a 4-3 lead.

Schaumburg had an answer in the bottom of the fifth, as Weekly delivered the first of his two game-impacting hits- a double to right field. After advancing to third on Cole's grounder to short, Weekly came home on a Ben Van Iderstine sacrifice-fly to right to once again even the score.

The T-Bones received solid work from their mound corps of Blair (7 IP, 4 ER) and Morrison (3-3), who suffered the loss despite allowing just the solo home run to Weekly in two-plus innings of relief.

Matt Schweitzer (5-0) was equally tough out of the Schaumburg bullpen, giving up just one hit in three scoreless innings of work to earn the victory.

The T-Bones will take a break to host the 2006 Northern League All-Star Game on Tuesday evening at CommunityAmerica Ballpark before returning to action Thursday at 7:05 p.m. to kick off a four-game series with the Calgary Vipers.

Game Notes: Doug Dreher's current hit streak matches Charles Peterson's 15-game streak as a club-high for 2006...Kyle Nichols also extended a hit streak, as the T-Bones outfielder singled in the first inning to stretch his streak to 11 games.
