T-Bones Acquire Foust in Deal with Joliet

07/05/2006 12:44 PM - JOLIET, Ill. - The Kansas City T-Bones obtained outfielder J.D. Foust from the Joliet JackHammers for a player to be named prior to the two clubs' series opener Tuesday evening. The 25-year-old Norwood, OH native was batting .297 with a pair of home runs and 10 RBI to go along with seven stolen bases in 39 games for Joliet this season.

Foust, who led-off and played centerfield for the T-Bones in their 6-3 victory Tuesday evening, hit .284 for Calgary in 2005 and set a Northern League record for triples in a single season (12). The new mark eclipsed the previous record shared by Jose Peguero in 1996 and tied by former T-Bone Rick Prieto in 2004.

After playing collegiately at Toledo (OH) University, Foust was selected by the Phillies in the 24th round of the 2003 draft. Entering 2006, Foust was a career .279 hitter over his three professional seasons.
