Biography:

Dylan Tice returns for his second season with the T-Bones after re-signing on March 28, 2017.  Tice was one of the league’s top offensive players when his contract was purchased from the T-Bones by the New York Mets organization on August 4, 2018. In 68 games for Kansas City, Tice hit .333 with one home run and 16 RBIs while holding down the leadoff spot for KC.  At the time his contract was purchased, the Perkasie, Pennsylvania native was ninth in the league in average, 4th with 55 runs scored, 5th in hits with 91 and 4th in on-base percentage at .428.  Tice walked 41 times and added 12 stolen bases to a T-Bones club that flourished with him at the top of the batting order. He was second in the club in stolen bases and was hit by a team-leading seven pitches last season.   Despite having his time with the T-Bones cut short, he would finish 3rd in the league in on-base percentage and 9th overall at the plate in batting average. On the T-Bones season-ending stat sheet, Tice was 2nd in on-base percentage, 4th in stolen bases, 2nd in average, 3rd in runs and his hit total would finish 3rd overall. Tice played in 14 games at Brooklyn in the New York-Penn League, going 13-for-44 and hitting .295 with five RBIs.

Tice came to Kansas City following an All-Star season in 2017 where he hit .327 for the Rockland Boulders of the CAN-AM League. Tice was tied for the team lead in batting average and would finish fifth overall in the circuit at the plate. He would add four home runs and 49 RBIs while scoring 72 runs. His 122 hits were good for fifth in the league, and he would lead the Boulders and the CAN-AM with 32 stolen bases. The Boulders traded Tice to Sugarland on February 26th.

Tice was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 36th round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He would spend parts of two seasons with the Cardinals organization, reaching high A Palm Beach in the Florida State League in 2016. In 40 games he hit .288 with a homer and 18 RBIs in 2016. Tice spent eight games at low A Peoria in the Midwest League, hitting a home run and driving in six runs in 35 at bats, and he spent another 20 games at short season A State College in the New York-Penn League with two long balls, 10 RBIs and a .281 batting average. Tice spent 41 games following the 2015 draft with the Cardinals Gulf Coast League club. He hit .280 with one home run and 22 RBIs in his rookie season.

Tice became the 38th T-Bones player to have his contract purchased when the Mets called last season. The T-Bones lost eight players during the season to affiliated ball and three more to Mexico, yet still somehow reached a franchise-best 26 games above .500 and won the franchise’s first American Association Championship and third league pennant overall.

In college he played three seasons at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his final season at West Chester University. His final season in college he led the Golden Rams with a .433 (65-for-150) and 11 team leading home runs and 43 RBIs.  Tice was the PSAC East Division Player of the Year and an all-region selection in 2015.  Tice also was a Tino Martinez Award semifinalist, which is handed out to the Division II national player of the year. He added 16 doubles and five triples while striking out just seven times in 188 plate appearances. Tice also scored 59 runs on the year with a .827 slugging percentage and a .548 on-base percentage offensively making only 13 errors in the field (.935 fielding percentage).

In the offseason the native of the Philadelphia area is an assistant coach Cabrini University an NCAA Div III school in Radnor, PA.
