KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Northern League has announced that T-Bones designated hitter Calvin Pickering is Player of the Week for the week ending July 21.

Pickering hit .524 (11-for-21) with three home runs and 10 RBI while scoring 11 runs of his own for the week.  In addition, he walked seven times while striking out just once.  Pickering’s RBI total is now at 58, tying him for second in the league.

The former Kansas City Royal is steadily heating up for the T-Bones after a slow start.  Pickering now sits at .304 with 10 home runs after hitting just .274 at the end of June.

Pickering was originally a 35th round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 1995.  He has 95 Major League at-bats including 43 with the Royals.
