KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones snapped a five game losing streak in front of 7,107 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Saturday night with a 15-5 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Winnipeg entered the game with their first-half divisional hopes still alive, but the loss ended their chances of a title.

T-Bones starter Chris Krawczyk (pictured) settled down after jams in the first and fourth innings to earn his second win of the season and Matt Schweitzer followed him by retiring all eight batters he faced.  Calvin Pickering led the offense with a season high five-RBI night, which included his seventh home run of the season.

The Goldeyes grabbed a two-run lead in the first after Fehlandt Lentini doubled and scored on a Chris Latham single.  Latham would later score on a base hit by Scott Schade.  Kansas City followed in the bottom of the inning to tie it when Al Benjamin singled in Geoff McCallum and later scored on a Pickering single.

Kansas City grabbed the lead in the third on Pickering’s three-run homer to left.  Neb Brown followed with a walk and a steal of second before coming around to score on a Patrick Arlis single.  The lead quickly condensed as a three-run home run by Brent Metheny in the next half inning cut the lead down to one.

Kansas City added insurance runs with a two-out single by Aharon Eggleston in the fifth and a Pickering sacrifice fly in the sixth. Two more came across in the seventh and Eggleston hit a grand slam in the eighth to put it away as the T-Bones held the Goldeyes hitless for five and two-thirds innings before Schade singled off Rob Watson, who came in to pitch the ninth.

Game Notes:  Calvin Pickering singled in the first, extending his on-base streak to 27 consecutive games.  Pickering also had at least three RBI for the third consecutive game…The T-Bones snapped their losing streak of 11 games versus Winnipeg that dates back to August of last season… Aharon Eggleston hit his first homer of the season and his first since Aug. 27 2005…Rob Watson pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the second time this season.  His first appearance came in Schaumburg on May 31…Eggleston and Pickering both drove in five runs for the T-Bones…Six of the nine starters for Kansas City had multi-hit games…Patrick Arlis went two-for-four and drove in a run in his T-Bones debut.
