KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones lost their fifth straight overall in front of 5,837 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  The T-Bones carried a one-run lead into the ninth, but fell 9-6, dropping to 17-29 on the season.

The Goldeyes scored early off T-Bones starter Anthony Boughner as Chris Latham’s RBI single drove in Anton French in the top of the first inning.  Winnipeg put up two more in the third take a 3-0 lead.  That was all they would get off Boughner who allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits in six innings but didn’t factor into the decision.

The T-Bones responded in the bottom of the third with an RBI single from Mario Delgado and a three-run home run by Calvin Pickering (pictured) to take a 4-3 lead.  Rob Watson increased the lead to two with a solo home run in the fourth off Winnipeg starting pitcher Glenn Bott.  Bott pitched five innings, allowing five runs on five hits in a no decision. 

Kansas City kept the lead until the seventh when Luis Alen’s RBI double brought the Goldeyes within one.  Alen would later score on a passed ball to tie the game at six.  Kansas City loaded the bases off Brandon Kintzler in their half of the seventh, but was unable to capitalize.

Geoff McCallum’s RBI single in the eighth off Brian Beuning gave the T-Bones a one run lead going into the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Goldeyes, who scored four runs on four hits off T-Bones closer Dan Jackson in the ninth.  Jackson fell 0-3 on the season.   

Winnipeg’s left-hander, Ryan Ariail, was credited with the win, improving to 2-1.  Danny Core and Travis Schlichting both pitched an inning in relief for the T-Bones.

Game Notes:  The 4-3 lead taken by the T-Bones in the third inning was their first of the series…Mario Delgado continues to lead the league in doubles, hitting his 20th double of the season while going two-for-four on the night…Calvin Pickering’s home run in the third extended his on-base streak to 26 games…The T-Bones have now lost 11 straight versus the Goldeyes…Every Goldeye but first baseman Scott Schade collected a hit in the contest.
