CALGARY, Alb. – Kansas City’s offense erupted for 22 hits and 18 runs, with each starter recording at least one hit as the T-Bones held off a resilient Vipers team for an 18-12 win at Foothills Stadium.

After the Vipers took a 3-1 lead, the T-Bones put the pressure back on Calgary starter Daivis Burguillos in the second, taking a one-run lead after scoring three on Geoff McCallum’s two-RBI single and a wild pitch that plated McCallum.

The T-Bones picked up where they left off after a pitching change, roughing up reliever Randy Waite for three more runs on three hits to complete their six-run second inning, making the score 7-3.

Kyle Nichols’ home run with a man on in the third brought the Vipers within two, but Boughner retired the next three batters in a row to get out of the inning without further damage.

The T-Bones allowed Calgary to take an 8-7 lead after a three-run fourth inning that saw only two hits and three consecutive errors committed by Kansas City.

The seesaw battle continued in the fifth inning when the T-Bones tied the score on Aharon Eggleston’s single, part of his three-hit game.  Kansas City retook the lead a batter later on McCallum’s sacrifice fly before Mario Delgado’s single brought Eggleston home from third to make the score 10-8.

Eggleston’s two-RBI double highlighted a five-run sixth for the T-Bones as Kansas City sent 11 batters to the plate and increased their lead to 15-8.  Eggleston finished with four RBI, a season high. 

Three runs in the bottom of the sixth brought the Vipers back in the game, but Eggleston’s RBI single and Rob Watson’s groundout that plated Nelson Gord in the seventh put the game away 17-11.

Boughner pitched five and two-thirds innings, picking up the win despite surrendering 11 runs on 10 hits.  Randy Waite was credited with the loss for Calgary.  Justin Costi and Matt Schweitzer combined to pitch the final three and one-third innings for the T-Bones.  Costi went two and two-thirds innings allowing only one run while Schweitzer pitched a scoreless ninth.  Rob Watson went four-for-six with four RBI while Delgado added another multi-hit game going three-for-six.

Game Notes:  Calvin Pickering’s RBI single in the top of the first extended his on-base streak to 17 games on the road and 21 games overall…Mario Delgado’s single in the first extended his road-game hitting streak to 10 games…Delgado has now hit safely in 35 of 41 games for Kansas City… Rob Watson’s double in the second extended his hitting streak to 13 games… The 18 runs scored is the most by a Kansas City team on the road in the past two seasons…The 30 combined runs scored is the most in a Northern League game this season…After hitting just .053 against Calgary in five games, Austin Easley managed to go three-for-four with five runs, one RBI and a stolen base.
