WINNIPEG, Mb. – The Kansas City T-Bones continue to struggle after dropping game two of today’s doubleheader against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 7-1.  The Goldeyes took the first game of the twinbill, 11-3.

Winnipeg got out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, picking up three runs on four hits off T-Bones starter Lavon Lewis (pictured).  With one out Brent Matheny, Scott Schade and Luis Alen all singled.  Alen’s hit drove home Matheny and Schade.  With two outs, Cameron Coughlin singled home Alen to close out the Goldeyes’ scoring in the second.

Rob Watson got the T-Bones on the board in the fourth inning with a solo home run to left.  The T-Bones would then load the bases with nobody out, but Mario Delgado was tagged out at third when he tried to advance on a foul flyout by Brad Correll without realizing the runner in front of him didn’t break for home.  The inning ended with a groundout to short by Austin Easley and the T-Bones failed to capitalize on the bases loaded situation.
 
Lewis would surrender three more runs in the fifth inning, only one of which was earned thanks to an error by shortstop Rob Watson that allowed Fehlandt Lentini to score from third.  A two-out double from Scott Schade and a single from Max Poulin plated the other two runs in the frame.  Lewis picked up his first loss of the season after allowing six runs, four earned, on nine hits in five innings of work.

Kansas City added a run when Dylan Parzyk picked up his first career RBI on a two-out single.

Chris Krawczyk pitched the sixth inning for the T-Bones, allowing one unearned run on one hit.  Goldeyes starter Glenn Bott improved to 1-1 on the season after allowing just one run on three hits in six innings of work.  Brandon Kintzler threw a scoreless seventh inning to finish the game for Winnipeg.

Game Notes:  Alen went three-for-six with six RBI in the doubleheader.  All three hits were singles…Winnipeg’s 1-2-3 hitters went just three-for-21 in the doubleheader while their 6-7-8-9 hitters went 15-for-25 and drove in 11 of their 18 runs…Travis Schlichting, normally a reliever for the T-Bones, played third base in both game and made two errors in each contest.
