KANSAS CITY, Kan. - It was a close battle throughout the game Tuesday night, but the Edmonton Cracker-Cats came out on top 6-5 over the Kansas City T-Bones. 

The T-Bones came out strong in front of 4,026 fans, scoring two runs in the first inning.  Edmonton stayed close scoring one in the top of the second.  A solo home run by Terrance McClain tied up the game, 2-2, in the top of the third.

Base hits by Mario Delgado and Brad Corell gave the T-Bones a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the third, but Edmonton added one in the fourth and another in the sixth on a solo home run by former T-Bone Kyle Nichols. 

Edmonton continued to rally in the eighth, scoring two runs on four hits off T-Bones reliever Matt Schweitzer.  Schweitzer allowed two runs on four hits in one and two-thirds innings, picking up the loss. Recuenco ended the inning with a strikeout, leaving the bases loaded and keeping the T-Bones within two.  The T-Bones cut the lead in half as Aharon Eggleston singled to drive in Austin Easley, who reached base with a double. 

Kansas City was able to advance a runner to third in the bottom of the ninth, but Correll came up short with a deep fly ball to center field to end the game.

Edmonton starting pitcher Scott Richmond allowed four runs – two earned – on five hits in a no-decision.  Louis Pote picked up his first victory of the season, allowing one run on three hits in two innings of relief.  Mike Johnson allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth to get his second save.

Chris Krawczyk (pictured) pitched five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits in a no-decision.  Brett Reid threw two innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit.  Dan Jackson came in with two outs in the top of the ninth and forced Nichols to fly out to center to end the inning.

Game Notes:  Aharon Eggleston stole his league-leading fourth base of the season in the eighth inning…Edmonton snapped a four-game losing streak…Rob Watson reached base four times, twice on singles and twice on Edmonton errors.  He also scored two runs.
