KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Schaumburg Flyers came out strong in front of 6,213 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark and continued to put up numbers throughout the game.  Getting on the board in the first inning, the Flyers followed with a big second inning, scoring five runs, three unearned, giving the Flyers a 6-0 lead.  Every Flyers starter, except right fielder Victor Burgos, got a hit in the contest.

The winning pitcher, Billy Keppinger, carried the Flyers through the seventh inning, striking out four in a row at one point and 10 on the game.  He held the T-Bones hitless until the top of the fourth when Neb Brown hit an infield single to third.  The Flyers took an 11-0 lead into the eighth inning when the T-Bones scored five runs, two earned. Flyers pitchers walked five batters and the team committed three errors in the inning, two of which directly lead to runs for the T-Bones.

T-Bones starter Jonathan Krysa (pictured) took the loss, going five innings and allowing six runs, three earned, on eight hits. Rick Hummel surrendered five runs on seven hits in two and a third innings. Travis Schlichting pitched the final one and two third innings without allowing a run, giving up two hits and striking out three.
