T-Bones Add Outfielder, Ink Easley

04/25/2007 4:52 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones of the independent Northern League announced the signing of outfielder Austin Easley. Easley was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2004. He spent two seasons in the Red Sox system before his release. Easley, 24, spent last season with the Shreveport Sports of the American Association.

“We are looking for Austin to balance our lineup as a right-handed power hitter,” said T-Bones manager Andy McCauley. “He should find himself hitting behind either Delgado or Pickering in the middle of the lineup. Easley is a good baserunner, with a plus arm from the outfield.”

Last season with the Sports, Easley hit .277 with seven home runs and 43 RBI. He finished the year third in the American Association with 56 walks. Easley was also nine of 13 in steal attempts.

The Kansas City T-Bones begin their 2007 campaign at home on May 17 at 7:05 p.m. versus the Schaumburg Flyers. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (913) 328-5618, online at www.tbonesbaseball.com, by visiting their team store in The Legends, by stopping by the ticket office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, or by visiting your local CommunityAmerica Credit Union branch.
