T-Bones Stay Local with Krawczyk

04/10/2007 4:13 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the signing of local product Christopher Krawczyk, 24. Krawczyk was born in Kansas City and currently resides in Independence, Mo.

“Christopher is a guy that didn’t really get a fair shake in affiliated ball,” said T-Bones manager Andy McCauley. “He was good in college and I think he will be a solid option for us as either a fourth or fifth starter; or even out of the bullpen. He’s a guy that Tim (Doherty, hitting coach) is familiar with and we look forward to seeing how he performs.”

Krawczyk played collegiately at Missouri State University from 2002-2006 and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 22nd round of last year’s amateur draft. In 18 games with the Tigers’ Class-A affiliate Oneonta, he went 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA in 36.1 innings. He struck out 26 and walked 11 in that span. Krawczyk picked up his first professional win at Brooklyn on July 18, allowing two runs on six hits in 2.2 innings of relief.

The T-Bones season starts on May 17 versus the Schaumburg Flyers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets go on sale to Wyandotte County residents starting April 13 and to the general public on April 14. Season tickets and mini-plans are available for purchase now by calling the T-Bones ticket office at (913) 328-5618 or at www.tbonesbaseball.com.
