T-Bones Trade for Boughner

03/02/2007 2:05 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The T-Bones today announced a trade for former Saint Paul Saint pitcher Anthony Boughner in exchange for a player to be named later. Boughner, a resident of New Philadelphia, OH, spent just one season with St. Paul. Prior to becoming a Saint, Boughner pitched for parts of two seasons for T-Bones manager Andy McCauley in Schaumburg.

Last season with the Saints Boughner racked up a 3.55 ERA in 20 games, 19 as a starter. He finished with a record of 9-7 with 67 strikeouts and 21 walks while pitching 121.1 innings.

“He is a dominant lefty when he is on, and a durable starter that can eat a lot of innings throughout a season,” said McCauley. “I am looking forward to working with Anthony again and project him as one of our top starters for the 2007 season.”

Boughner, 28, is a 6-3 210 lb southpaw who was originally signed as a nondrafted free agent by the Baltimore Orioles in 2002. He spent two seasons in the Orioles system before signing with Schaumburg in 2004. He pitched 10 games for the Flyers prior to signing with the Cincinnati Reds organization. Boughner split time between class A Dayton and Potomac before his release at the end of the 2004 season.

Boughner has compiled a career 3.70 ERA in 114 games he has struckout 293 while walking 109.
