CommunityAmerica and the T-Bones Helping New Teachers "Survive"

08/02/2006 12:01 PM - LENEXA, Kan. – CommunityAmerica Credit Union, currently engaged in its 6th annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive, for underprivileged children, is partnering with the Kansas City T-Bones to aide the National Education Association-Kansas City, Kansas in an effort to raise donations for new teachers.

On August 3, 2006, when the T-Bones take on the Schaumburg (Ill.) Flyers, fans who bring in school supplies for the NEA-KCK’s “New Teacher Survival Store” will receive a free berm ticket for the T-Bones 2007 Season.

The NEA-KCK local chapter developed its New Teacher Survival Store to help new teachers obtain the supplies they need to enhance their students' education. This project is supported by the National Education Association through its Urban Grants program. The store is funded through private donations and donations from current and retired teachers.

On August 8, 2006, NEA-KCK will convert their Eastern Regional Office at 11015 W. 75th Terrace in Shawnee into a teacher supply store with donated items from all of its sponsors.

The NEA-KCK is seeking the following donations for their New Teacher Survival Store. Items may be dropped off at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on August 3 prior to the T-Bones game:
