06/30/2006 3:03 PM - KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City T-Bones are pleased to announce a full slate of activities surrounding the 2006 Northern League All-Star Game, presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union. The majority of the activities related to the event will take place on Monday, July 17, and Tuesday, July 18, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan.

Monday’s festivities will kick off with a celebrity golf outing, to be held at “The Deuce” at the National Golf Club in Parkville, Mo. This event, which begins at noon, is an opportunity for fans to play 18 holes of golf with Northern League owners and general managers. The tournament entry fee is $120 and includes lunch, prizes, and a ticket to the following day’s All-Star Game!

Before the afternoon is through, the All-Star Fan Fest will kick off at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The Fan Fest begins at 3:00 pm and will feature an interactive T-Bones experience as well as the Northern League’s home run derby and skills competition at 6:00 pm! The highlight of the night, however, will be when former major league stars including Amos Otis, Willie Wilson and John Mayberry take the field for the Legends Game, presented by AT&T; the game is slated to begin at 7:30 pm. The participants in the Legends Game will be available to sign autographs from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm on July 17, with proceeds from the signing donated to charity; as well, the stars will take part in a meet and greet after the game in the center field party grove. Admission to the meet and greet is $100, and is limited to the first 400 people.

At the conclusion of the Legends Game, the bands Dixie Road and “39” will perform at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, and a fireworks show will also light up the sky! Tuesday will start with the 2006 All-Star Luncheon, to take place at the Hyatt Crown Center at 11:30 am. Negro Leagues legend and Kansas City favorite “Buck” O’Neil will be the keynote speaker at the event, and all of the Northern League All-Stars will also be present! This is an event that baseball fans won’t want to miss. Plates are just $40, and table packages – which include an ad in the All-Star program, a full table at the event, two autograph tickets, a table at the Fan Fest and admission to the July 17 meet and greet – are only $1,000!

At 7:05 pm on July 18, CommunityAmerica Ballpark will host the tenth All-Star Game in Northern League history.
