T-Bones add catching depth

06/22/2006 1:43 PM - KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City T-Bones have agreed to terms with James Beever, manager "Dirty" Al Gallagher announced today. Though the 6’4”, 220 lb. Beever was signed as a catcher, most of his professional career has been spent as a pitcher, including a stint with former Northern League foe Lincoln.

Beever has split time this season between two United League teams, playing three games with the Amarillo Dillas, before being traded to the San Angelo Colts where he posted a 9.00 ERA in 6.0 innings of work over six games.

As a catcher for the T-Bones, Beever will step to the plate for the first time since the 2005 season, when he recorded a .206 average in 34 at-bats with the Surprise Fighting Falcons of the Golden League.
