Seven-Game Homestand Opens Monday Night!

06/19/2006 3:38 PM - KANSAS CITY – After winning three of their last four games on the recently-completed road trip, the Kansas City T-Bones are eager for a bit of home cooking. And the T-Bones staff is excited to welcome fans back to CommunityAmerica Ballpark for a week of promotions that are sure to please!

The homestand will open with four games against the Joliet JackHammers, and conclude with three against the Gary SouthShore RailCats. With the exception of the 11:05 am Thursday start and 5:05 pm Sunday start, all of the games will take place at 7:05 pm.

The T-Bones open the homestand on Monday night with another in their series of Free Cash Mondays, presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union. Two weeks ago, it was the inaugural Pay to Park; this week, it’s a tribute to the old television show “Let’s Make a Deal” where T-Bones fans will be rewarded for the strange odds and ends they bring to the ballpark.

Tuesday will be the the third Dollar Dog Night of the summer, presented by Sara Lee. Wednesday nights, as always, sizzle at CommunityAmerica Ballpark; this one will stand out, however, as it’s the Small Business Summer Sizzle! This is a tremendous opportunity to network with other small businesses, and tickets may be obtained by calling (913)328-5628. Wednesday night is also Stadium Bingo presented by State Street and Autograph Night presented by Kansas City Kettle Korn, and every Wednesday is also Post-Game Catch on the Field presented by Sonic.

The T-Bones will close their series with Joliet with an 11:05 am start Thursday, and the game will feature the World’s Largest Banana Split presented by Sheridan’s Frozen Custard and ThunderStix presented by the YMCA of Greater Kansas City! Ditch work and bring the kids to come see the T-Bones!

The T-Bones welcome the Gary SouthShore RailCats for the weekend, which is the first Redneck Weekend at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The weekend will feature all of the usual promotions, but will have a special redneck flair to it in response to the overwhelming popularity of Mullet Night! Friday night will be the Labatt Blue Party on the Deck, Saturday night will be American Century Investments Fireworks, and Sunday will be Kansas City Star Family Day and Bob Evans Kids Run the Bases.

Saturday will also feature a baseball clinic for the kids at 1:00 pm, presented by Burger King. Learn the fundamentals of baseball on the field at CommunityAmerica Ballpark! Admission is free and kids between the ages of 5-14 are welcome; the clinic will last for one hour.

Headlining Redneck Weekend will be Saturday night’s Redneck Wine and Cheese Festival, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Don’t miss boxed wine, processed meat in a can and spray cheese before the game!
