Cracker-Cats Take First Game of Twin-bill

06/06/2006 9:05 PM - KANSAS CITY, KAN. - The Kansas City T-Bones (7-11) dropped the first game of a double-header with the Edmonton Cracker-Cats (10-7), 2-0 Tuesday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The game was originally scheduled to be played Monday night, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Kansas City showed promise in the bottom of the first inning, as Michael Spidale and Doug Dreher each reached base, but Spidale was caught stealing second, and Charles Peterson hit into an inning-ending double play.

Edmonton's first run came when Derek Patterson's single sent Stubby Clapp across the plate in the third inning. Their only other run came in the sixth when Greg Morrison led-off by sending a Buddy Blair offering over the right field wall for his third homer of the season.

Brad Bissell (2-2) kept the T-Bones guessing all night, surrendering just five hits and issuing four walks while holding the home team scoreless for 5 2/3 innings. Hayden Gardner pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to earn his first save of the year.

Buddy Blair (0-4) pitched five solid innings for Kansas City, giving up just seven hits and two runs, both of which were earned.

Jonathan Krysa (2-2, 4.10) takes the mound for Kansas City in the second game, while Jeff Little (1-2, 11.57) gets the ball for the Cracker-Cats.
