Bacci Picks Up Third Win Against Sioux City

07/03/2003 3:58 PM - Kansas City T-Bones starter Tony Bacci tried to extend his league lead in complete games last night, but fell two outs short. However, he did pitch into the ninth inning while giving up only four runs in his third win of the season. He gave way to D.J. Johnson with one out in the ninth after giving up a run. Johnson once again showed why he is so dependable out of the bullpen by getting the next two hitters for his seventh save of the season.

The offenseive star proved to be Eddie Pearson. Eddie's three hits raised his average over .300 for the first time as a T-Bone. He also led the team with three RBI while smacking two doubles. Those two doubles would be the only extra base hits that the team would manage, but it proved to be enough to get the victory.

John Cotton brought the big bat for the Explorers. He went two for four with three RBI and hit his fourth homerun of the season. It would not be enough, however, for starter Wes Faust. He took his sixth loss of the season after allowing seven runs in six and two-thirds innings.

The two teams play their final game of the series tonight. Jayson Sigley takes the mound for Kansas City and looks to bring home a series victory going into the July 4th weekend against the St. Paul Saints.
