T-Bones Announce 2006 Schedule

10/28/2005 10:56 AM - In 2005, the Kansas City T-Bones shattered their per-game attendance record, averaging 5,555 fans per game, fourth in all of independent baseball. That’s a tough act to follow, but the fourth season of “Fun, Well Done!” promises to be more of a hit than the first three, as the Kansas City T-Bones host 48 regular-season home games as well as the Northern League’s mid-summer classic. The home regular season opens on Tuesday, May 23, when the T-Bones host the Joliet JackHammers at 7:05 pm.

The 2006 season will feature the T-Bones as members of the realigned league’s East Division, along with Joliet, the reigning league champion Gary-SouthShore RailCats and the Schaumburg Flyers. The T-Bones will welcome Joliet and Schaumburg for ten games, while the RailCats will visit CommunityAmerica Ballpark for nine contests. As well, the T-Bones will host their West Division foes for a total of nineteen games as the league adopts an unbalanced schedule.

The home season opens on May 23 with a three-game set against Joliet before the T-Bones hit the road for seven games. Kansas City then returns for nine games in ten days, their longest homestand of the season, which spans from June 2 to June 11.

For the first time in team history, the T-Bones will host the Northern League All-Star game. Set to take place on Tuesday, July 18, the contest will feature the best and brightest the league has to offer. Specific events surrounding the game will be announced in the upcoming weeks, but will include a fan fest on Monday, July 17 as well as a celebrity softball game and home run derby.

As well, the T-Bones’ promotional calendar, which has become well-known in Kansas City and all around minor league baseball as a cornucopia of innovative events, will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Look for fan favorites such as Mullet Night and Elvis Night as well as others sure to become legend!

Standard game times will remain the same as in prior seasons, with 7:05 pm first pitch on Monday-Saturday and 5:05 start times on Sundays. There are four midweek day games on the schedule as well, with 11:05 am starts on Wednesday, June 7; Thursday, June 22; Wednesday, July 12; and Wednesday, July 26.

“We’re looking forward to a terrific 2006 season,” said T-Bones Vice President/General Manager Rick Muntean. “Fan support has been phenomenal here in Kansas City and with the All-Star Game here this summer, it’s going to be even better!”

Individual game tickets will go on sale in April, while group tickets will be available starting January 15. Season tickets – including mini plans and half-season packages – are available now by calling (913)328-BALL (2255). Don’t miss a chance to get in on the fun!
