09/04/2005 5:39 PM - The Calgary Vipers scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to take a 6-5 lead over the Kansas City T-Bones at Foothills Stadium in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The two runs made a winner of Viper reliever Cody Cillo (W, 4-2) and sent the T-Bones and Vipers home for the winter with two streaks - for the T-Bones, a four game losing skein, and for the Vipers, a six-game run.

The T-Bones got on the board first in the game, scoring four times in the top of the first inning. An RBI double by Nick Sorensen got the T-Bones on the board, and Sorensen scored on an RBI single by Brandon Jones. The next batter, Matt Ceriani, doubled in two runs to give the T-Bones an early cushion.

But Calgary struck back, scoring twice in the bottom of the inning. It was on the bases that the Vipers got it done, with two stolen bases and an RBI single from Carlos Duncan, followed by a wild pitch by starter Greg Bicknell that allowed Duncan to score to make it 4-2.

Duncan homered in the bottom of the third to get the Vipers within 4-3, but in the fifth, Nick Sorensen smashed his first homer as a T-Bone to give Kansas City a two-run lead again. Sorensen was 2-for-5 on the day, driving in two runs. It wouldn't be enough.

Jason Colson homered against reliever Joe Goodmann to make it 5-4 in the seventh inning, and RBI singles by J.D. Foust and Adam Shorsher against closer Mike Cosgrove (L, 0-3) gave the Vipers the late lead. The Vipers scored both of their eighth-inning runs with two outs, with the rally coming after Duncan had been ejected from the game for arguing with home plate umpire Yves Lamontaigne.
