CELEBRATE OUR NATION’S BIRTHDAY WITH THE T-BONES!

07/01/2003 10:21 AM - When the St. Paul Saints come to town for a three game series beginning July 4th, not only will fans be treated to the usual fun and excitement of a T-Bones’ baseball game, but they will also be able to experience many other features as well.

On Friday, July 4th, fans will be able to bring the whole family out to CommunityAmerica ballpark to celebrate Independence Day. Prior to the start of the game at 7:05 p.m., all eyes will turn skyward to see the T-Bones’ Parachute Team jump from the skies and make their pinpoint landing in centerfield. That will be followed by performances from your T-Bones’ Spirit Girls during the game. After the game, the T-Bones will go all-out to make this 4th of July one to remember for all in attendance. First, a fireworks show one won’t soon forget will take place. Then, as fans are leaving the ballpark, they’ll be treated to live music, with the Crazy Catz performing at the left field exit, capping off the perfect evening to our national holiday. Don’t forget about the between inning promotions either, where one can win various prizes from our generous T-Bones’ sponsors!

The fun continues Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. when the T-Bones and Saints play the second game of their series. The Spirit Girls will once again be on hand to dazzle you with their dancing and their love of the T-Bones! And if you couldn’t get enough fireworks to hold you over for the year on Friday night, then come back out to CommunityAmerica ballpark on Saturday. A repeat performance of the fireworks show will take place after the game.

The holiday weekend caps off on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. It’s Family Day at the ballpark where kids can run the bases after the game. The T-Bones’ mascot Sizzle will be there to make sure everybody runs hard and will even give autographs to anybody who wants one. The amazing Frisbee Dogs will perform during the game as well.

Across State Avenue at the Kansas Speedway, the engines will roar as a full weekend of racing is set to take place. On Friday, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will begin their qualifying for Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 250. That will be followed on Sunday by the Infiniti Pro Series Aventis Racing for Kids 100 and the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series Kansas 300.

Between the races and all of the excitement at CommunityAmerica ballpark, Village West Parkway is the place to be to celebrate this 4th of July. Tickets for the T-Bones can be purchased over the phone by calling (913) 328-2255. They can also be purchased at the stadium, or at any CommunityAmerica Credit Union location. Your Kansas City T-Bones will make the July 4th weekend Fun Well Done!
