A night after teammate David Viane threw a complete game shutout in the T-Bones' 5-0 victory over the Jackhammers, Jonathan Krysa threw a gem of his own in going the distance in the T-Bones' 7-1 win over Joliet for the second consecutive night.

The workhorse of the T-Bones’ rotation, Krysa threw 145 pitches, striking out eight batters and allowing just seven hits along the way, all singles. The dominant performance comes just five days after Krysa struck out nine in eight innings in an 11-2 win over Schaumburg. In the last two games, just two JackHammer base runners have advanced to third base and only one has scored. One scored via sacrifice fly and the other base runner was thrown out at home attempting to score from second.

T-Bones’ shortstop Chad Sosebee provided the offensive fireworks by bringing the crowd of 6,508 in attendance at CommunityAmerica Ballpark to their feet with his eighth inning grand slam that just snuck inside the foul pole and over the left field fence and extended the T-Bones lead to 7-1. Ahead 2-1 entering the eighth, the T-Bones plated five in the frame to open the game up and sent Joliet reeling to its eighth consecutive loss. In addition to his slam, Sosebee smacked a run scoring triple in the fifth and notched a double in the third on a night that saw him come a single short of the cycle. Sosebee’s five RBI are a season high.

Joliet starter Nathan Kent (L, 2-6) received the loss pitching seven innings while striking out five. Like starter Ben Moore from a night ago, both pitchers allowed just 2 earned runs apiece in their respective starts, but happened to run in to two of the T-Bones’ hottest pitchers in Viane and Krysa. In the past two games, the two have combined for 18 innings pitched allowing 13 hits and one run.

Notes: Mike Brown hit three singles in his three at bats... Ray Brown went 2-4 with an RBI while extending his hitting streak to eight games... David Segui singled and scored a run in the contest.
