T-Bones’ Ehrnsberger Goes to the Mariners

06/27/2003 10:16 AM - (KANSAS CITY, KS) —The Seattle Mariners organization has purchased the contract of Kansas City T-Bones' leftfielder Chad Ehrnsberger.

Ehrnsberger has consistently been one of the Northern Leagues’ home run leaders with a total of seven homers this season. Ehrnsberger currently leads the league in slugging percentage at .617 and extra base hits (19), is tied for the league lead in doubles (12), and is ranked fourth in the Northern League in RBIs (26).

While Kansas City will miss having Ehrnsberger on the roster, the club is thrilled to send him to the Mariners’ organization. “He did an outstanding job for us, and I couldn’t be happier for him,” said manager Al Gallagher. “It’s a great opportunity for Chad, and hopefully he will achieve his goal of becoming a major league player.

Over 500 players from the Northern League have been sold to the National Association. Twenty-seven of those have played at the Major League level. Ernsberger will be the first player to go the National Association from the T-Bones organization.

The T-Bones will start a three game series with the Gary Southshore Railcats on Friday. Tickets are still available for this series, but are in limited quantities. To buy tickets or for more information, please call (913) 328-2255. T-Bones Baseball is Fun Well Done!
