Prieto is Named Player of the Week!

06/23/2003 10:15 AM - (KANSAS CITY, KS) — T-Bones’ centerfielder, Rick Prieto is the Northern League’s player of the week for June 18-22. Prieto was selected because he leads the Northern League standings in triples (6) and in slugging percentage (.603), is tied for the lead in extra base hits (16), and is ranked fourth in the league for hits (40), and runs scored (26).

“Rick is an inspirational player who leads on and off the field. He’s truly what a veteran should be in this league.” stated “Dirty” Al Gallagher, field manager for the T-Bones. Prieto’s impressive stats for last week included .500 average for the week, with six runs, two home runs, three triples, and eight RBIs.

“Rick is not only a great player, but he has represented the T-Bones organization very well at community events and with fans after the games. We appreciate his talent, and his willingness to interact with the people of Kansas City,” said Jennifer Olson, director of media relations for the T-Bones.

The T-Bones begin a seven day homestand against the Joliet Jackhammers today at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night will be a double header, when the two teams finish a tied game from earlier this season.
