8THINNING HAUNTS KANSAS CITY IN LINCOLN

08/03/2019 10:27 PM -

LINCOLN, NEB –   The Kansas City T-Bones (35-35) made things interesting again after the 8th and forced extra innings to lose their first extra-inning affair, making the Lincoln Saltdogs (31-40).

After twelve long innings, the decision was Kevin Hamann (1-3) as the losing pitcher and Reese Gregory (1-0) got the win in game two.

The T-Bones offense drew first blood from Saltdog starting pitcher John Brownell with a 2-run inning. Shawn O’Malley hit an RBI single scoring Mason Davis, and Casey Gillaspie grounds out to first but scores Dylan Tice from third. The T-Bones were able to accrue six hits but struggled with stranding men on base.

Former T-Bone Forrestt Allday, Daniel Herrera and Cody Regis all had good days at the plate against Kansas City tonight, all sporting two hits apiece. Everyone in the Saltdog lineup, except Curt Smith, got at least one hit.

The eighth inning still haunted the T-Bones in Lincoln, where Dylan Baker put two on, and Robert Calvano entered the middle of the inning and gave up two runs to tie the ball game. Josh Mazzola scored Cody Regis and Forrestt Allday off a single.

After the tie, Ramsey Romano hit a big triple in the 10th inning, but neither Dylan Tice nor Mason Davis were able to bring Romano in. Throughout the extra innings the T-Bones the T-Bones bats went completely cold, and eventually it was the death of the T-Bones’ series hopes.

Evan Korson let go yesterday’s series opener against the Lincoln Saltdogs, but he put them away today after entering the eleventh inning. However, that wouldn’t be the end of the extra innings. Kevin Hamann entered the twelfth to keep up the battle, but he let up a walk off two-run homerun to right field to make it a series win for Lincoln.

The -T-Bones will play to avoid the broom tomorrow at 5:05 p.m.  Hear all the action on the T-Bones Broadcast Network with Dan Vaughan on the call.
