T-BONES WIN AND THE BIRDS FLY ON HOMEKANSAS CITY, Kan – The Kansas City T-Bones (35-33) came out to at JustBats Field with bats on fire, winning the final game of the series with the Sioux Falls Canaries (31-39), 10-5.
Kansas City got on board first in the bottom of the second when Roy Morales hit a single to center field that scored Shawn O’Malley. Morales then scored on a wild pitch off Mark Seyler. Then, Dylan Tice hit a single to left field that scored Danny Mars, giving the T-Bones an early 3-0 lead.
Sioux Falls, however, came back quickly, tying the game in the top of the third on a Kevin Taylor single to center field that scored both Brett Vertigan and Jordan Ebert. Then, Alay Lago hit a triple to center field, scoring Taylor, evening the score, 3-3.
The Canaries untied the game and took the lead 4-3, in the top of the fourth as Jordan Ebert hit a single to center field that sent home Mike Hart.
A double by Andrew Ely scored Lago and put Sioux Falls even further in the lead, 5-3, in the top of the fifth.
The T-Bones clipped the Canaries' wings in the bottom of the sixth as Tice hit a double to left field that sent both Morales and Ramsey Romano to home base. Then, Daniel Nava hit a single to center field, sending home Tice. Chris Colabello crushed the ball to right center field, getting a home run off pitcher Connor Leedholm, scoring Nava as well and giving the T-Bones an 8-5 lead.
Later, the T-Bones turned up the sizzle when Romano hit a single to center field, scoring Danny Mars to make the score 9-5 in the bottom of the seventh. A home run to right field by Nava, off pitcher Alex Ogren, furthered Kansas City’s lead, 10-5, in the bottom of the eighth.
Jon Perrin (3-1) got the win for the Kansas City T-Bones, and the losing pitcher for the Canaries was Mark Seyler (3-5).
