In a wild contest that saw both teams combine for 22 runs and 30 hits, the T-Bones prevailed 12-10 over the Gary SouthShore Railcats Sunday evening at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The victory was the 20th of the season for the T-Bones, who now find themselves in sole possession of second place in the South Division. The division-leading St. Paul Saints visit town starting tomorrow for a four-game set.

T-Bones starter Greg Bicknell (W, 7-0) picked up his Northern League-leading seventh victory but struggled throughout most of the ballgame. The veteran pitched six innings and allowed eight runs, three of which were earned, twelve hits and struck out five.

Leading 2-0 in the second, T-Bone shortstop Chad Sosebee committed a crucial error that lead to four unearned RailCat runs. However, the T-Bones quickly answered back by delivering five runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Kansas City then opened the game up in the third plating four highlighted by the back-to-back-to-back home runs off the bats of Rick Prieto, Eric Vega and Greg Jacobs.

Newcomer Eric Anderson (S, 1) relieved Bicknell and pitched effectively in his three innings of work earning his first save with the T-Bones. RailCats starting pitcher Greg Bruso (L, 0-4) received the loss after his two-inning performance in which he surrendered five earned runs.

Losing for only the first time in 16 tries with a lead entering the ninth on Saturday night, the T-Bones felt the heat once again from Gary on Sunday. Trailing by two and with the tying run at the plate, Curt Lee bounced to first baseman Scott Lucas who started the game-ending double play.

Jason Colson, Eric McNamee and Alex Taylor all had at least three hits apiece in the losing effort. The 16 hits allowed by the T-Bones tie a season high set earlier against Joliet.

Notes: In addition to his two-run home run, Vega was 3-4 on the night, scoring four runs with two stolen bases... Greg Jacobs had another spectacular outing in only his sixth game with the T-Bones going 3-5 with 3 RBI and raised his average to .417 (10-24)... Brandon Jones had 3 RBI to raise his season total to 21.
