A GAME TO REMEMBER

06/08/2019 9:21 PM -

Kansas City, Kan. – This was a game to remember for the Kansas City T-Bones as they continued their series with the Chicago Dogs Saturday, June 8th. They came out ready to fight, hoping to redeem themselves after several losses, and they succeeded, beating the Dogs 6-5.

The Chicago Dogs made it on the board first in the first inning with a double-RBI by Trey Vavra, sending home Jordan Dean to make the score 1-0.

Kansas City fought back in the second inning, getting on the board, 1-1, tying the game with a fielder’s choice by Roy Morale and allowing Shawn O’Malley to advance to home.

However, the Dogs took the lead 3-1, in the top of the third with a home run by Keon Barnum, which also let Vavra run home too.

On a sacrifice fly to right field by Daniel Nava that got him out, Darnell Sweeney ran home to advance the T-Bone’s score 2-3 in the bottom of the third.

Soon after, Chicago advanced their lead to 4-2 in the top of the sixth on a fielder’s choice that allowed Carlos Zambrano to advance to first and for Tony Rosselli to run home.

The T-Bones ,however, had a surprise for the Dogs with Christian Correa hitting a single in the bottom of the sixth that allowed Casey Gillaspie to score, making it 3-4. Then, they took the lead, 5-4 from Chicago when Ramsey Romano hits a single, allowing both O’Malley and Correa to run home.

Luckily, for the T-Bones, Romano is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.

Then, as the T-Bones furthered their lead even more in the sixth inning, Dylan Tice hit a triple-RBI that got Romano to home, making it 6-4.

Later, the Chicago Dogs tried to redeem themselves with a walk by Victor Roache that let Jordan Dean score, making it 5-6, but they did not succeed.

Kansas City did what they best, taking a bite out of the Dogs. They will continue their series with Chicago Sunday, June 9th to hopefully get another win.
