ALLDAY JOINS THE EVERYDAY OUTFIELD MIX

KANSAS CITY, Kan.– The Kansas City T-Bones announced today that the club has signed outfielder Forrestt Allday for the 2019 season.

Forrestt Allday was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of the University of Central Arkansas. Allday comes to KCK after spending the last season with the San Diego Padres organization between AA San Antonio and AAA El Paso. The native of Galveston, Texas spent the bulk of his time last season El Paso in the Pacific Coast League. In 80 games Allday hit .281 with four home runs and 35 RBIs. He would lead the team with 11 stolen bases and finish fourth in runs scored with 54. He would open the season at AA San Antonio in the Texas League, playing 41 games through the season’s first month and a half and hitting .248 with four RBIs.

Prior to his one season with the Padres, Allday spent 2016 and 2017 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization. He would once again see time at AA and AAA in 2017, but his stay in the PCL was just one game with Salt Lake City. He would go 4-or-5 in his one game but played 91 games at AA Mobile in the Southern League. Allday would finish near the top of the team’s stats sheet, playing the third most games, stealing 11 bases (also good for third), and his 32 RBIs was good for fourth for the club. He would finish with one home run and hit at a .290 clip for the Bay Bears.

The Boston Red Sox released Allday on April 1, 2010, but he did not stay unsigned long. He would ink a minor league deal with the Angels on April 8, 2016 and he would go on to appear in games at four different stops in the “halos” system. Allday would open the season playing in five games at high A Inland Empire, going 5-for-18 with three runs driven in. He would play 28 games in the Texas League at AA Arkansas where he hit .281 with seven RBIs and added another 14 games at AAA Salt Lake City where he hit .227 with one RBI. Allday also would spend a three-game rehab stint at Orem in the Pioneer League, going 2-for-10.

His first three seasons were spent with the Boston Red Sox organization. He would play 79 games at high A Salem in the Carolina League, hitting .283 with two long balls and 20 RBIs in 2015. He would finish second on the club in walks with 48 and second in on-base percentage at .383. Allday saw five games of action at AA Portland in the Eastern League, going 4-for-15 with three RBIs. In 2014 he played in 52 games at Greenville in the South Atlantic League, hitting .274 with 18 RBIs, and he would make his Minor League debut in 2013 with Lowell in the New York-Penn League. Allday hit .227 in 38 games for the Spinners with 11 RBIs and eight stolen bases.

In college Allday, helped the University of Central Arkansas to 2013 Regional tournament and was Rawlings/ABCA 1st Team All American, Southland Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, Baseball America 3rd-team All-American and UCA Student Athlete of the Year his final season. He began his college career at Alvin Community College before transferring to UCA. At Alvin he was 2011 All-Conference, 2011 All-Region, 2011 NJCAA 2nd Team All-American, 2011 NJCAA D1 Rawlings Big Stick Award, participated in the 2011 Texas/New Mexico JUCO All-Star Game and was the 2010 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Born in Galveston, Allday attended Friendswood High School in south Houston where he was a 2009 1st Team All-District, 2009 2nd Team All-Galveston County, 2009 Honorable Mention All-State and was part of the 2009 Regional Semifinalist team.
