KANSAS CITY, Kan.– The Kansas City T-Bones announced today that the club has signed outfielder Daniel Robertson for the 2019 season. Robertson brings 11 years of professional baseball experience including parts of four seasons in the Major Leagues to Kansas City.  In 148 Major League games he hit a career .262 with a home run and 36 RBIs. Robertson was drafted in the 33^rd round by the San Diego Padres in 2008 out of Oregon State University.

2018-2019 was a busy year for the veteran outfielder. Robertson began 2018 with the Arizona Diamondbacks AAA affiliate in the Pacific Coast League the Reno Aces. In the PCL he hit .253 in 26 games with one home run and eight RBIs before Arizona moved him down to AA Jackson in the Southern League. In 73 games with the Generals Robertson hit .265 driving in 39 runs with eight RBIs. He would add 14 stolen bases good for second on the club. The Diamondbacks released Robertson on August 3^rd, but he found a home with the Sugarland Skeeters of the Atlantic League on August 14^th. In the final 21 games of the season he would hit .219 with a homer and six RBIs at Sugarland.

Robertson spent the winter ball season in the Mexican Pacific Winter League splitting time between Jalisco and Obregon. In 25 game at Jalisco he would hit .281 with four run driven in while at Obregon he would play 19 games and hit .269 with seven RBIs.

In 2017 Robertson signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians and was invited to spring training. He would open the season at AAA Columbus. He would have his contract purchased on May 24^th and spend 57 games in the Big Leagues. Robertson would hit .225 (67 for 209) going deep once with seven RBIs before designated for assignment on August 10^th of that season. Following his release and clearing waivers the Indians signed him to a minor league deal and sent him back to Columbus where he played until his release on August 25.

Robertson spent the 2016 season with the Seattle Mariners organization with nine games in the Big Leagues but the bulk of the time at AAA Tacoma. He would open the season at Tacoma then have his contract purchased on July 5^th and go 5-for-19 with an RBI in his stay with the big club. At AAA Robertson hit .287 in 114 games with six home runs and 46 RBIs. He would swipe 13 bases in the PCL third highest on the club.

Seattle claimed Robertson off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on November 6, 2015 then just after the winter meetings designated him for assignment on December 18, 2015. He was outrighted to Tacoma on December 23 to close out the 2015-2016 hot stove off season. His 2015 season was spent with the “halos” where he once again saw time in the Big Leagues and at AAA. The Angels acquired Robertson heading following the 2014 season via trade from the Texas Rangers on November 20, 2014.  He would open the year at AAA Salt Lake City where in 60 games he would hit .265 with a home run and 20 RBIs. The Angels would recall Robertson on June 14^th where he would play in 37 games hitting .280 with seven RBIs going 21-for-75. He would be optioned back to AAA on July 29 and after a stint on the disabled list and a rehab assignment in the Arizona League the Angels would call him back up for a September stay in the Majors.

The San Diego Padres invited Robertson to spring training in 2014 where he would break with the club at AAA El Paso. His stay with the Chihuahuas was a short. He would start the year on the disabled list but once his seven days were up he would go 8-for-22 in five games with a pair of home runs and five RBIs. The Padres then traded Robertson to the Texas Rangers on April 23, 2014 and called up that same day to the Major Leagues.  He made his Major League debut April 29 vs. Oakland and tallied his first Big League hit the following night off Oakland's Jim Johnson.  He would be sent down to AAA Round Rock on May 7^th but spend only eight games with the Express going 6-for-33 before being recalled up to the Rangers on May 18. Robertson would spend a career high 70 games with the Rangers hitting .271 with 21 RBIs.

He made appearances in all three outfield positions for Texas, including 30 in left field, 21 in center field and 18 in right field and played two games as the designated hitter and one at second base during his first Major League season. From July 1^st through the remainder of the season hit at a .290 clip (38-for-131) ranking fourth by an A.L. rookies (min. 145 PA). Robertson feasted on lefties hitting .330 (32-for-97) in the Majors in 2014.  He would miss six games with non-displaced fractures in the face as a result of a collision with Alex Rios May 22.

In 2013 Robertson spent his second consecutive season at Triple-A Tucson in the PCL for San Diego. He would lead the team with 23 stolen bases and hit .285 with two homers and 53 RBIs. Robertson was deadly with runners aboard hitting .331 (40-for-121) with runners in scoring position and .351 (20-for-57) with runners in scoring position and two outs. He would also bat .332 (70-for-211) with runners on base over the course of the season. Robertson led the Toros in run scored crossing the plate 91 times on the season.

In his first full season at AAA Tucson Robertson playing in 129 games with two home runs and 38 RBIs and 18 team leading stolen bases with a career high .302 average in 2012. His 70 runs scored was second on the team and his 148 hits and 28 doubles led the Toros.

Robertson would spend the entire 2011 season at AA San Antonio hitting .283 in 124 games. He led the team in hits with 124 and his 20 stolen bases was good for second on the team. In 2010 Robertson batted .300 and stole a career-high 30 bases for Single-A Lake Elsinore and was named to the California League mid-season All-Star squad. In 2009 he would spend the entire year with Single-A Fort Wayne, batting .296 with a .380 on-base pct. in 121 games.

Robertson made his pro debut in 2008 and got off to a strong start. He was named Northwest League Most Valuable Player after leading circuit in hitting (.377), runs (59), hits (114) and on-base pct. (.443). His 114 hits established a Northwest League record and he was ranked second in RBI, tied for third in doubles and third in stolen bases. At the seasons end he would be named as a member of the Northwest League post-season All-Star team.

His full name is Daniel Roger Robertson and he graduated from South Hills High School in West Covina, CA. He began his college career a Concordia in Irvine, CA playing three seasons and then transferred to Oregon State University for his senior year.
