Thunder and Lightning returned to form Wednesday afternoon. Ray Brown and Eddie Pearson collected seven hits and drove in six runs including Brown's go-ahead RBI single in the seventh to help the T-Bones salvage the rubber game and beat Joliet 9-3. The victory ends the T-Bones' season-high three-game losing streak.

The T-Bones offense exploded for 16 hits in the contest. Along with Pearson and Brown, Rick Prieto, newcomer Eric Vega and Chad Hill had at least two hits for the T-Bones. Prieto chipped into the offensive attack by driving in two and Hill's two RBI's were a season high.

Reliever Joe Goodmann (4-0) relieved starter Caleb Balbuena and pitched 4 1/3 innings of solid relief to pick up the victory. Goodmann pitched out of a one-out bases-loaded jam in the fifth by striking out two batters in a row and finished with four in the game. He was supported by a stingy T-Bone defense that turned in three double plays on the afternoon. Southpaw J.C. Ortiz followed Goodmann's act with 1 2/3 scoreless innings, and Derek Forbes worked a scoreless ninth.

Jermaine Allensworth led the offensive attack for the JackHammers smacking two hits and driving in one in the losing effort. The 3-4-5 hitters for Joliet combined for nine strikeouts and one hit in the game. Starter Jason Shelley (3-1) got the loss going 6 2/3 innings allowing nine hits and five runs.

Notes: Eddie Pearson recorded an RBI for the seventh consecutive game with his run scoring sacrafice fly in the first... Ray Brown batted a robust .666 in the series going 8-12 and driving in three runs... The T-Bones have tomorrow off before beginning a seven-game road trip that begins Friday in Winnipeg to face the Goldeyes. After the four game series in Canada, the T-Bones have a three-game set with the Sioux Falls Canaries at the Birdcage in Sioux Falls.
