SIOUX FALLS, SD – The American Association has announced that Kansas City T-Bones right-handed pitcher Tommy Collier has been named the league’s Rawlings Pitcher of the Month for the month of July.

Tommy Collier is coming off a month where he made five quality starts, winning all five and dropping his ERA from 4.83 to 3.21. For the month, the Texas native tossed 36.2 innings, giving up just three earned runs and helping KC race to a 19-9 record for the month on the field. He currently is riding a streak of 28.2 innings not allowing an earned run for the T-Bones. This all comes on the heels of the T-Bones losing ace Scott Carroll to AAA Tijuana in Mexico on June 27^th.

Collier has been lights out on the road all season as the T-Bones have won all six road outings as a team and have earned a 10-3 overall record when he takes the mound. He leads the team with 10 quality starts and has gone at least six innings in his last 12 starts. Collier is coming off a homestand where he went 15.2 innings in two T-Bones wins with 19 strike outs.

For the season Collier is 6-3 with a league -leading 90 strike outs in 87 innings. He looks to continue his surge and help secure a series win as KC will take on the Sioux Falls Canaries in game two of a three -game series tonight at Sioux Falls Stadium. The game can be heard on the T-Bones Broadcast Network with the first pitch at 7:05 pm. The T-Bones are currently facing game two of a six game road trip with the club set to return to T-Bones Stadium Monday August 6^th at 7:05 pm against the Texas Airhogs.
