WICHITA, Kan.– After late inning drama the night before, the Wichita Wingnuts scored seven runs in the first three innings, to erase any suspense in a 15-3 win over the Kansas City T-Bones Tuesday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

The T-Bones placed lefty Rich Mascheri (2-1) into the starting rotation for the game, and he was in trouble early. Wichita got three first inning doubles to jump out to a 2-0 lead, the last two were RBIs from Brent Clevlen and Matt Chavez. They added another three in the second off Mascheri with a solo homer from Martin Medina and an RBI double from TJ Mittelstaedt that scored two more runs to make the score 5-0.

The T-Bones picked up a run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 5-1 on an RBI ground out by Omar Garcia, but Wichita was at it again in the bottom of the inning.  Leo Vargas hit a two run home run run inside the park to make it 7-1.

The Wingnuts then went on to score another six in the fourth inning, with Matt Chavez hitting a three-run home run to highlight the inning off Aaron Brooks to make the score 13-1. Wichita added to their lead late in the seventh with an RBI single from Zac Fisher that scored two more.

Kansas City got two more runs the rest of the way, on a sac fly from Kevin Keyes in the fifth and a solo homer from Keyes in the ninth, his league leading 10th.

Wichita got a solid start from Tyler Kane (4-1), who picked up the win, going seven strong innings and allowing just one earned run on seven hits.

The rest will be short as the two teams will play game three of the series at 11:05 am Wednesday with right-hander Scott Carroll (2-1, 3.52) going for Kansas City and facing righty Alex Boshers (3-1, 5.04) for Wichita.
