T-Bones winning streak snapped

Gary, IN – The Kansas City T-Bones had their four-game winning streak snapped 6-2 Thursday night by the Gary SouthShore RailCats at U.S. Steel Yard.

The RailCats took the lead in the home half of the fourth on a sac fly from Frank Martinez and a sac fly from Jaime Del Valle to make it 2-0 off T-Bones starter Chris Perry.

RailCats starter Alex Gunn held the T-Bones scoreless through six innings until Kansas City broke through. In the top of the seventh, Joe Jackson singled with one out and Daniel Rockett walked to put runners at first and second. A wild pitch moved the runners to second and third for Christian Correa. The T-Bones catcher doubled off the wall in left to score both Jackson and Rockett to tie the game.

The RailCats came right back to take the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Fitzgerald thripld to take the lead 3-2 scoring Anthony Cheky who walked to start the inning off of reliever Myles Smith. Kris Goodman woild single home Fitzgerald to make it 4-2 Gary. The RailCats would add another run on a sac fly from Frank Martinez to take a 5-2 lead.

The loss over shadowed a qualitu start from Chris Perry. The right-hander went six innings scatteriong four hits with two earned runs and five strike outs to get a no decscion. Drasen Johnson (2-1) got the win in relief with Jorge DeLeon getting his second save of the year. The loss went to T-Bones reliever Myles Smith (0-2).

The T-Bones 10-game road trip continues Thursday night with the final game of the four-game series at Gary. Kansas City will turn to right-hander Chris Perry (0-1, 9.39) to take the hill, while Gary will counter with lefty Alex Gunn (1-0, 2.70).
