ST. PAUL, MN – The Kansas City T-Bones could not overcome the big inning Saturday night as the St. Paul Saints used a six-run third inning on the way to a 10-3 win of game two of the three game series at CHS Field.

The Saints got the early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Tony Thomas led off with a triple to center to start the inning for the Saints. Anthony Gallas brought him home on a fielder’s choice ground out to short off of T-Bones starter Chris Perry.

The big inning came in the third, where St. Paul would plate six runs on seven hits. Danny Oh hit a solo home run off of Perry (0-1) to make it 2-0. Then Breland Almadova and Nate Hanson singled to put runners at first and second. Brady Shoemaker hit a deep fly to center to move Almadova to third for out number one. Tony Thomas would draw the walk to load the bases and Gallas delivered again. The former T-Bone hit a bases clearing triple to make it 5-0 St. Paul.

The Saints would score two more in the inning on an RBI single from Tony Caldwell and a RBI double from Jon Kristoffersen and it was 7-0. Gallas added another fielder’s choice RBI ground ball in the bottom of the fourth to give the Saints an 8-0 lead. Gallas would drive in five on the night.

The lone offensive bright spot for the T-Bones came in the top of the sixth, when Marcus Lemon hit a two-run homer down the right field line that just stayed fair. The ball landed on the top of the building behind the ballpark to cut the lead to 8-2.

St. Paul would get two runs back in the eighth inning on a two-run home run for Nate Hanson to make it 10-2. The T-Bones got an unearned run in the top of the ninth to make it a final of 10-3.

Jason Creasy (1-1) got the win working five innings surrendering two earned runs, while the loss went to Perry (0-1), who went 2 2/3 giving up seven earned runs.

The series continues Sunday night with game three of the three game series and game three of the current 10 game road trip. Right-hander Jeff Walters goes for Kansas City against fellow righty Mark Hamburger for St. Paul. The game can be heard on the T-Bones Broadcast Network online at tbonesbaseball.com.
