KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones have announced their collaboration with Gold Glove Charities for the inaugural Gold Glove Charities Night to be held Saturday, September 3, when the T-Bones take on Sioux Falls at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

“I want this event with the T-Bones to be Gold Glove Charities signature event each year,” said Gold Glove Charities founder and director Mike Martin. “My goal is to grow this event, and continue to add elements that will be fun for all the fans.”

To kick off the inaugural event, there will be appearances by Royals Hall of Fame outfielder Willie Wilson and “Marlin’s Man,” Laurence Leavy, who’ll coach first base during the game.

Fans are invited to come enjoy a free concert prior to the game in the left field parking lot by Missouri native, Casi Joy. Joy, a rising Nashville star, will also perform the National Anthem prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against Sioux Falls.

Gold Glove Charities’ guest of honor for the night is Jacob Sprinkle, a middle school student in Overland Park, who has been battling cancer since he was in the fifth grade.

A silent auction will also be held benefiting Gold Glove Charities, including specialty jerseys worn by the T-Bones players and coaching staff. The jerseys will feature Sprinkle’s handprints on the sleeves, as well as the Golden Glove Charities logo and a gold ribbon. There will also be various autographed items by Royals and Chiefs players, plus Bill Snyder, Collin Klein, Hank Aaron, Bobby Knight and more.

Silicone bands honoring Sprinkle will be given away to the first 3,000 fans.

“I really hope that fans turn out to honor Jacob, support the cause and enjoy a wonderful evening of baseball,” said Martin.

Tickets are available at TBonesBaseball.com or by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
