KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The American Association announced today that pitcher Mark Haynes will represent the T-Bones on the North team in the league’s All-Star Game on Aug. 2 in St. Paul, Minn.

The North team’s manager, Steve Montgomery, selected the squad’s pitchers.

“We’re excited that Mark made the All-Star team this year,” said T-Bones manager John Massarelli. “As one of the top closers in the league this year, he’s a great choice.”

Through Tuesday night’s win over Lincoln, Haynes is third in the American Association in saves with 12. He has a 2.36 ERA, allowing eight runs in 24 games (26 2/3 innings). So far this season, Haynes has struck out 28 and walked 13.

Haynes will join the rest of the North team, which is made up of players from the American Association’s North and Central divisions, on Aug. 2, as they take on the South team, which is made up of players from the AA’s South division and the Can-Am League all-stars, at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minn.
