T-Bones Blast Canaries

SIOUX FALLS, SD. – The Kansas City T-Bones beat Sioux Falls Monday night at The Birdcage, in a 7-5 final.

The T-Bones took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, after Jake Blackwood and Anthony Gallas each singled with two-outs. Starlin
Rodriguez with runners at first and second, popped up to Darwin Perez on the infield, but Perez dropped the pop-up, and Blackwood
scored from second base for the early 1-0 lead.

The T-Bones got two more runs in the third inning, courtesy of Anothony Gallas's eighth home run of the season, which also plated
Blackwood, givig KC a 3-0 lead. The Canaries would scratch across two of their own in the bottom of the frame, to pull within 3-2.

The T-Bones pulled away in the sixth inning, when Brett Wiley connected on a three-run home run to give Kansas City a 6-3 lead.

Kansas City starting pitcher Josh Tols (4-2) pitched five innings and allowed just one earned run in his first start of the season.

Canaries starting pitcher Misael Siverio (3-5) took the loss, and allowed six runs in five-plus innings.

The Canaries would tack on two-runs in the eighth inning, but Mark Haynes (7) slammed the door in the ninth inning, to pick up the save.

Brian Erie and Blackwood led the team with three hits. Gallas, Tyler Massey and Brandon Tierney each added two hits apiece.

The T-Bones (19-25) continue the three-game series with Sioux Falls (15-27) Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm, with
