T-Bones Survive RailCats

GARY, Ind. – The Kansas City T-Bones committed a season high five errors, but beat Gary 4-3 Wednesday evening at the US Steel Yard.

The RailCats scored three un-earned runs against T-Bones starting pitcher Sean Furney (2-1) in the first two innings, but fell for
the second time in three games against Kansas City. Furney picked up the win, and settled in to finish the game, in which he tossed
five innings. Furney finished the game with three straight scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.

The T-Bones recieved Anthony Gallas's fifth home run of the season in a perfect spot, a two-run blast in the fourth inning to pull
the T-Bones within a 3-2 deficit. The T-Bones would take the lead with a two-run sixth inning which included two-out RBI hits from
Jake Blackwood and Steve Swingle.

RailCats starting pitcher Richard Castillo (1-1) took the loss, in which he allowed four earned runs over five-plus innings.

The T-Bones finished the game with seven shutout innings from Furney and their bullpen. Evan DeLuca pitched two frames and Mark Haynes
pitched a scoreless eighth inning, before Aaron Baker (1) picked up his first save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.

The T-Bones pitching staff walked six batters, the defense committed five errors, but Kansas City escaped with a big team win. 

The T-Bones (7-7) conclude the four-game series Thursday night against the  Gary RailCats (6-8) at U.S Steelyard. First pitch is
