KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones announced they have re-signed outfielder Kyle Robinson to a contract for the 2016 season.

Robinson, 27 (12-02-88), who’s 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, batted .254 with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 41 RBIs in 55 games for Kansas City in 2015. He spent much of the season on the disabled list. He was batting .295 on July 9, before going on the DL.

“Kyle battled some injuries last year but he gives us a solid bat in the middle of the lineup,” said T-Bones manager John Massarelli.

The Chicago White Sox selected Robinson in the 28th round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of Arkansas. He spent three seasons in the White Sox organization, reaching single-A Kannapolis in 2012 and ’13. In five professional seasons, Robinson is a career .292 hitter with 87 doubles, 31 homers and 208 RBIs.

Robinson is the 13th player signed by Kansas City for 2016, including 10 returning, so far, from a 2015 season that saw the club finish in second in the American Association’s Central Division with a 49-50 record. The T-Bones were in the chase for a wild-card berth until the final week of the regular season.

The T-Bones open the 2016 regular season at home on May 19 against Texas.
