KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones have announced their 100-game schedule for the 2016 season.

The two biggest changes to the 2016 schedule are that there’ll be no interleague games against teams from the Can-Am League and the teams from Grand Prairie and Amarillo, which have been separate American Association teams, will combine to form one club in 2016. The combined team, Texas, will give the league 12 teams in 2016.

“From a baseball standpoint, we play everyone in the league at least once, and no one is playing against the Can-Am teams, so it’ll be more balanced from a competitive standpoint,” said T-Bones vice-president and general manager Chris Browne.

The T-Bones open the season on May 19 with a four-game series at CommunityAmerica Ballpark against Texas. That’ll be followed by a three-game series against rival Lincoln beginning May 23.

Although Kansas City has four seven-game homestands — its longest stint at home in 2016 — the T-Bones have an 11-game roadtrip from May 26-June 5, which will include St. Paul, Gary SouthShore and Sioux City.

As has become a tradition for the T-Bones, the team will be at home during the Independence Day weekend, as it plays host to St. Paul, July 1-3. The T-Bones will close out the regular season at home on Labor Day weekend with four games against Sioux Falls, Sept. 2-5. That’ll be Sioux Falls’ only trip to Kansas City, but it’ll mean that all 11 opponents will visit CommunityAmerica Ballpark in 2016.

“It is always fun to open the season at home,” Browne said, “and for our fans, to be able to see all 11 teams from the league before closing out the season at home, it should be a great season of fun well done.”

The month-by-month breakdown of the 50 home games: May (7), June (14), July (12), August (13) and September (4). That includes nine weekend series at home, which is one more than last season.

Full season and nightly promotions will be announced this winter.

Full and half-season ticket packages, as well as flex plans, are on sale now. Group ticket packages will be available later this offseason. Single-game tickets will go on sale to Wyandotte County residents on March 22, 2016, and to the general public on March 24. Parking for T-Bones games will remain free in 2016.
