T-Bones Claim Series; Eye Thunderhead Sweep

AMARILLO, Texas – The Kansas City T-Bones scored three runs in the first inning, to lead start to finish, Tuesday night, and snag a series win, 6-2, against Amarillo.

The T-Bones scored three runs in the first inning, off Amarillo starting pitcher Alex Koronis (2-3). Starlin Rodriguez led off the game with a walk, and scored on a Nate Tenbrink RBI double to start the scoring. Jake Blackwood followed with an RBI single to score Tenbrink to give Kansas City a 2-0 lead. The T-Bones scored their third run of the inning, courtesy of a wild pitch, that allowed Kyle Robinson to score with two outs in the inning.

The T-Bones added an extra run in the second inning, as Tenbrink added another double, and scored on another RBI single from Blackwood for a 4-0 lead.

Kansas City starting pitcher Dustin Loggins (1-2) pitched seven strong innings, and allowed just one run for his first Kansas City victory this season.

The T-Bones offensively, collected 13 hits. Tenbrink had three hits, and reached base five times. Kyle Robinson added two hits and reached base three times, as did T-Bones catcher Brian Erie. Blackwood led Kansas City hitters with three RBI's, and gives him 59 on the season... five behind team leader Adam Bailey.

The T-Bones (45-42) conclude the three-game road-trip against Amarillo (41-47) Wednesday night at 7:05pm and can be heard online at Tbonesbaseball.com or 1660 AM locally in Kansas City.
