T-Bones drop final home exhibition game

The Kansas City T-Bones struggled Sunday afternoon, allowing 12 runs off of 14 hits, ultimately falling to the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 12-4, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. 
 
T-Bones starting pitcher Fernando Hernandez, who has experience at the Major League level, had problems early on, allowing six earned runs in three innings. Derek Lorea came into the game for Hernandez in the fourth inning and worked two, allowing one run on two hits. In all, Kansas City used four pitchers in the final home exhibition game.
 
The T-Bones showed life in the seventh inning when, trailing 12-2, Alex Marquez and Jordan Hurtt scored. Although they scored only four runs, the T-Bones compiled 10 hits in the game.  

Sunday marked the final home exhibition game for Kansas City. The T-Bones stand at 2-3 in preseason play as they head to Wichita and Joplin for games on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The T-Bones will begin their regular season schedule at home on Friday, May 22, against Lincoln at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
