Lincoln outlasts T-Bones

05/13/2015 9:26 PM -

Lincoln scored nine runs in the first two innings and held off Kansas City, 9-7, Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The Saltdogs tagged T-Bones starter Kyle DeVore for three runs in the first inning, before adding six in the second. The big blow came off the bat of Mitch Canham, who delivered a three-run home run to the berm in right against Kansas City relief pitcher Garrett Granitz.

The T-Bones chipped away at Lincoln's 9-0 lead with four runs in the third inning. Kansas City sent eight batters to the plate and scored four runs on RBI singles from C.J. Henry, Jake Blackwood and Nate Tenbrink. Kansas City added solo runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings.

Vladimir Frias had three hits, and Henry and Joe Rapp each added two for the T-Bones, which are now 1-1 in exhibition games.

The T-Bones are scheduled to continue their eight-game exhibition season on Thursday night at 7:05 against Joplin at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
