KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones swept the doubleheader with a 5-2 walk-off victory in game two over St. Paul in front 5,569 fans in CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Saturday night.

In a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning of a seven-inning game, Robby Kuzdale led off with an infield single to the pitcher. Bryan Sabatella, pinch-hitting for Darrell Hudson, drew a one-out walk. T.J. Mittelstaedt then blasted a three-run walk-off homer over the right-field wall. It was his third home run in the doubleheader.

Kansas City erased a two-run deficit in the third when Hudson led off with a single toward third. Hudson scored on an RBI single by Matt Padgett. Danny Richar singled and later scored on a fielder’s choice by Ray Sadler that tied the game at 2-2.

Pat Doyle (6-4) picked up the win after tossing 2 scoreless innings in relief.

Game one of the doubleheader was less dramatic. The T-Bones used a trio of home runs from Mittelstaedt and Sadler and beat St. Paul 9-4.

Mittelstaedt led off the first and second with solo home runs. Sadler crushed his 247th career home run, a three-run blast out of the stadium in the first inning.

Patrick Mincey earned his second win with the T-Bones and his fourth on the year. He tossed a scoreless inning in relief, giving up one hit and striking out two. Derek Loera notched his first save after throwing 2 scoreless innings.

The T-Bones (46-52) and the Saints (48-50) will continue a five-game series Sunday night at 7:05. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
