KANSAS CITY, Kan. – T-Bones pitcher Lucas Irvine has been listed as the No. 10 prospect by Baseball America in the magazine’s annual ranking of the top 25 unsigned players in independent leagues.

Irvine, 24, was in the top five in the American Association in ERA (2.96, third), strikeouts (94, fifth), complete games (3, tied-second) and innings pitched (121 2/3, second) before being traded to New Jersey in August. With the Jackals, he went 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA, 26 strikeouts and one shutout in six games.

Irvine, who lives in Liberty, Mo., was traded back to Kansas City from New Jersey after the season.

According to Baseball America: “Irvine works with a 90-93 mph fastball, a solid breaking ball and a good changeup. Manager after manager raved about his ability to use all three pitches, his composure on the mound, his ability to limit the running game, field his position, hit his spots and generally keep hitters off balance.”

At the end of September, the Arizona Diamondbacks purchased the contract of T-Bones pitcher Dustin Loggins.
